Tikona Digital Networks (TDN) has launched its product Tikona Wi-Bro – the Wireless Broadband service in 10 cities of India and plans to roll out its network in 50 cities in 2010. Tikona, with its product powered by OFDM and MIMO 4th Generation technologies, aims at providing a fixed broadband experience wirelessly. The company provides 2 Mbps plans with a unique “Circuit Breaker” feature to control bill amount. The product offers an all home solution and business Internet solutions to connect multiple PCs wirelessly – leading to zero cabling inside homes to ensure no damage done to consumer’s home aesthetic or interiors. With WPA 2 and 802.1X provisions, it offers the highest level of security available on wireless network which means freedom from risks of self-installed Wi-Fi devices. Prakash Bajpai, Founder, MD & CEO, Tikona Digital Networks, commented, “The current broadband Internet scenario is similar to what the mobile scenario was 10 years ago. India has just a little under 10 Mn Broadband, while China has more than 120 Mn Broadband. China could reach this level as they had a large wireline plant of over 400 million lines. India has only 40 million and only a fraction of this is usable for Broadband. Wireless broadband is the only option for India to increase its Broadband base to levels that are similar to China’s. We envision a powerful broadband-enabled India and believe that it is an imperative for an emerging IT and software superpower.” In addition, Tikona Wi-Bro service is bundled with Anti-Virus solution to enhance PC security and a consumer need not take a separate WiFi router. |
