Fifth edition of one of Asia’s biggest Information, Communication, Electronics and Technology platforms, Asia ITEX, was organised by Asian Business Exhibition & Conferences Ltd in Delhi for the first time from January 14-16, 2011. The exhibition that took place at ITPO saw Indian and MNCs participating in the three-day B2B and B2C technology extravaganza.
The exhibition, which has been organised in Mumbai in its last four editions, was organised in Delhi for the first time with the objective of expanding the reach and brand to major cities across India. More than 80 companies participated in the Expo, including Toshiba, Lenovo, Dell, Samsung, and Aircel , WD among many others. Supported by the Times Group and sponsored by leading technology firms, the exhibition also provided platform to local companies to showcase their products and brands which had been participating in the Mumbai leg until now.
Commenting on the return on investment in platforms like this, one of the leading sponsors for the event, said, “These are the platforms that promise you immediate returns as the other participating companies are target customers as well. So, we do not have to differentiate the visitors from non-target to target as everyone is a potential customer here. Visibility of the brand is also higher to the target group.”
Sources said that the exhibition was most likely to expand its wings to other major cities like Bangalore and Chennai after launching in Delhi.
Speaking on bringing the exhibition to Delhi, Manish Gandhi, Director, ABEC, said “Delhi was always on our radar to take ITEX to. We wanted to expand the show and Gurgaon, Delhi being the IT hub, this was an obvious move. There is no other platform that is entirely dedicated to the IT sector like ITEX. We had many companies belonging from this region participating in the Mumbai event every year, they can now look forward to the exhibition in Delhi. Though we announced it much earlier, the preparation began just three months ago and the response has been amazing.” |
