Fujitsu unveils PRIMERGY CX1000 Cloud Computing Platform

Technology provider Fujitsu India has launched the PRIMERGY Cloud eXtension server, a new massive server that provides unprecedented levels of scale-out capability, and is ideal for cloud computing environments. The PRIMERGY CX1000 server sets new efficiency standards by optimizing the operating cost drivers of power, heat and space.

Designed from the ground up to deliver as much computing power per square foot as possible at the lowest-possible price, the PRIMERGY CX1000 server packs 38 server nodes into a single rack. The configuration provides a minimum savings of 20 percent in power and cooling in comparison to a standard rack server assembly.

“Cloud computing demands have caught datacenter operators in a vicious circle of performance and cost,” says Mr. Pallab Talukdar, CEO Fujitsu India. “Today, the battles are being won and lost on the plains of price-performance. With the PRIMERGY CX1000 we’re introducing a solution that goes beyond the scale-out performance envelope of rack servers – without blowing budgets – which is especially compelling in Cloud computing environments.”

The PRIMERGY CX1000 server also features the latest Intel 5600 processor series, which delivers unprecedented levels of processing power.
