Meanwhile, Sunil Grewal elaborated on GIGABYTE’s three-point strategic focus for the Indian marketplace – namely augmenting after-sales support, creating an IT knowledge community, and product innovation. Grewal spoke at length about GIGABYTE’s new agreement with its service partner, Accel Frontline, effective March 1, 2011, to have GIGABYTE Exclusive Service Centers, managed by Accel Frontline. Such exclusive centers have already been opened in Mumbai and Bengaluru, where GIGABYTE has made huge investment in the form of manpower (eight engineers) brought in from Taiwan and China, CNC machines, branding, etc. More such GIGABYTE Exclusive Service Centers will be opened in Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Kochi within three months, wherein GIGABYTE will bring in about six engineers to support the existing manpower in these locations. The endeavor is to bring down the average Turn Around Time (TAT) to three days, anywhere in India.
Through Accel Frontline, GIGABYTE presently has about 81 collection points in 79 cities, and is in the process of setting up over 60 more collection points through Premier Partners. The company intends to cover over 100 cities through these initiatives. The second strategic focus area for 2011 is creating an IT knowledge community through regular System Integrator (SI) and college events. This is an ongoing process for GIGABYTE which has a commitment to conduct over 30 SI meets and 10 college events per quarter, stated Grewal. Thirdly, product innovation has been always a major focus area for GIGABYTE, and since 2006 the company has been setting and patenting multiple quality standards every year, such as 24 Phase Power VRM, 2oz Copper PCB, Dynamic Phase Power Switching Energy Saving Technology, All Solid Capacitor, and TouchBIOS, to name a few. |
