GIGABYTE Technology Intensifies Promoting Gaming in India

With an eye to promote e-Sports culture in India, and also to connect with the  local gaming community, GIGABYTE Technology (India) Pvt. Ltd has embarked on a focused strategy of supporting LAN and video gaming competitions across the country.

In line with this strategy, GIGABYTE Technology sponsored the recently-held World Cyber Games (WCG) India Final, and plans to have a similar association with BYOC 2012, said to be India’s largest gaming festival, slated for January next year. Simultaneously, the company is increasingly providing support to entities that require technological help as well as sponsorship for organizing gaming events.

These entities include IT retail outlets, gaming (cyber) cafes, and engineering colleges (during their tech fests), among others.

LAN Gaming contests are fast gaining prominence as one of the most awaited and popular fixtures at annual fests of engineering / technology colleges across India. GIGABYTE Technology has recently embarked on a concerted initiative to sponsor such gaming events, while also conducting related training sessions for students at the venue. As part of the endeavor, in addition to knowledge-sharing, GIGABYTE is also providing its premium motherboards as prizes for winners of the gaming contests.

GIGABYTE’s dedicated gaming motherboards named the G1-Killer series, consists of the G1.Assassin, G1.Sniper and G1.Guerrilla. Recently, it had launched the new G1.Sniper 2 motherboard, designed for extreme gaming on the latest Intel Z68 chipset and Intel i7 Core ‘Sandy Bridge’ processors.
