InFocus Aims To Be A Leader In 3D Smartphone Category

US-based technology company InFocus is all geared up to roll out its products– smartphones, 3-D smartphones, feature phones, LED TV and tablets for the Indian market.

The company recently partnered with one of the largest ODM players Foxconn for the manufacturing of its products that are highly suited and designed for the Indian customers. The company has set to become $1 billion revenue company by the end of 2016.

InFocus, a four-month-old smartphone player, expects mobile handset sales to drive its growth in India and make up about 60-70% of its overall consumer business this year. Not only this, with Foxconn alliance, the company will be starting the local assembling of its products at one of the Foxconn’s plant in Andhra Pradesh in early September this year.

The company will be rolling out its new range of products, launched on Tuesday, from September onwards.

“We want to push our products in the festival time, we are gearing up for the stock and looking at multi-channel route both online and offline for our products. In the last couple of months, with the exclusive partnership with Snapdeal and Amazon we have received positive response to our smartphones. We have already sold 2.50 lakh smartphones. With the glass-free 3-D smartphones, we are going to create a new category of smartphones,” said Sachin Thapar, country head, InFocus India, even as the company prepares to start the delivery of its “India assembled” mobile handsets and tablets in the country by September.

InFocus on Tuesday launched four new smartphones-M812, M808, M550-3D and M370, priced between Rs 5,999 and Rs 19,999. In addition, it launched seven UHD, FHD/HD LED TVs ranging in size from 24 inches to 70 inches, a 2-in-1 hybrid tablet, and three feature phones that are priced in the range of Rs 799-Rs 1200.

InFocus would be a new player in the smartphone players, but it has been one of the established players for its B2B solutions be it projectors, Video conferencing and other solutions last 15 years.

For service support, the company has partnered with Excel, and for 3-D technology, it has forged an alliance with 3D by Super D for its Naked Eye 3D solution.
