Informatica Corporation the world’s number one independent leader in data integration software, has announced that Informatica has been selected as a 2011 CIO 100 award honoree. The esteemed award program, organized by CIO magazine, recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology.

Informatica was specifically honored for its innovative Informatica Marketplace, an online community of more than 125,000 active data integration users and developers. Built on Jive Software’s industry-leading Social Business platform, it is designed to deliver e-commerce capabilities with a focus on community. The Informatica Marketplace provides a forum that connects buyers and sellers in order to share best practices and leverage solutions and services that augment, extend or enhance data integration implementations.  

The recipients of this year’s CIO 100 award were selected through a three-step process. First, companies filled out an online application form detailing their innovative IT and business initiatives. Next, a team of judges reviewed the applications in depth, looking for unique practices and substantial results. Finally, CIO editors reviewed the judges' recommendations and voted on the final 100.
