Lenovo has embarked on a retail expansion across the country to tap into India’s key tier 3, 4, 5 cities/towns and plans to connect deeper with its customers. To kick start this nationwide expansion and in line with its ‘Getting closer to customers’ strategy, Lenovo inaugurated its first set of LES ‘Lite’ stores in the city to increase penetration in Bihar’s PC market.
LES Lite is a smaller version of Lenovo Exclusive stores (LES), typically around 150-250 square feet in size and will enable the company to penetrate deeper into tier 3, 4 and 5 markets. LES Lite stores will showcase the entire range of Lenovo’s consumer products - namely Notebooks, Netbooks, Desktops and All-in-Ones, to address the growing computing needs of consumers in the state. The launch of four new stores in Bihar is a first step towards fortifying the company’s retail presence in the state and marks the first phase of the expansion of LES Lite stores for Lenovo.
Announcing the company’s ambitious retail plans, Alex Li, Vice President, HSB (Home and SMB), Lenovo India, said, “LES Lite stores will help us connect with our consumers across the length and breadth of India, particularly in the upcountry markets. We plan to open around 400 LES Lite stores across key upcountry markets by the end of FY 2010-11. LES Lite stores will showcase the entire range of Lenovo’s consumer product range under one roof.” |
