MAIT, the apex body representing India’s IT hardware, training and R&D service sectors, has called for renewed concentration on green technology.

MAIT’s ‘Make It Green’ workshop at Pragati Maidan focussed on emerging legislation on e-waste, the recycling delivery chain and best practices associated with clean technology. The workshop began on Friday (February 17, 2011) and concluded on Saturday (19th February 2011).

While addressing a discussion on ‘green initiatives’ in the IT Sector, Ashwini Aggarwal, Executive Director, MAIT said, “The situation in India is alarming when it comes to e-waste. People still don’t know what e-waste is, hence not aware of disposal methods. We have launched the WEEE Create! magazine to educate stakeholders on the issue. WEEE Create! is actually a tool to fire individual creativity by recycling e-waste.
