Micromax Forays Into The PC Segment Through Canvas Laptab

The device is called Canvas Laptab that is run by Intel Atom Processor Z3735F and is pre-built with Windows 8.0 and MS Office 365. It can be converted from tab to a laptop when attached to a keyboard dock. This laptab no doubt impresses most by its smart design, HD touch enabled display and in-built 3G SIM slot. But soon when it is held in hands, it seems heavier than what most might have expected.

Canvas Laptab Price is Rs. 14,999, this convertible gadget is equipped with a 7700mAh battery, 10.1 inch WXGA IPS touch enabled display, 2GB RAM and 2MP front and back cameras to make video calls. Another interesting aspect is that it can be effectively be upgraded to Windows 10. Most likely, they are to be available on Amazon in the first two months of the launch, post which you’ll find them at the offline and online stores of Micromax.

We hope the best for Micromax which had earlier planned to enter into the PC space through a dual OS device, CES 2014 but soon gave up the idea as that led to various issues. According the co-founder of Micromax,Vikas Jain revealed that they are most likely to release another 5-6 more laptabs by next year. We will move into pure laptops and pure personal computers overtime. We are thinking of manufacturing it in India," Jain added. The company is talking to other online partners for selling the laptabs and will have separate sections in its retail stores for selling the models offline.
