Novatium Initiates ‘Connect to Learn’

Novatium, India’s cloud Orchestration Company, took a very unique initiative this Easter by making India meet Sweden through two schools in both the countries. The unique program coined ‘Connect to Learn’ is the effort between Ericsson, The Earth Institute and Millennium Promise which aims to empower under privileged children who, on normal circumstances might find it difficult to get such high quality education.

Connect to Learn program witnessed two schools from India and Sweden coming together – Little Lambs School in Chennai and Magnarp in Skane, Sweden wherein the children shared their thoughts on safety and trust. Children from both the schools got an opportunity to share their thoughts through pictures and words through a LIVE internet video which was powered by Novatium Solutions. Visitors on 6th & 7th April 2012 witnessed beautiful art in watercolors created by these children.

The art by the children of both the schools was created under the guidance and advice by watercolor artist Gunnel A Pålsson. Some of the watercolors will be up for sale, the proceeds of which will go to the children at Little Lambs School. Visitors in Sweden also had the opportunity to see the homes of the kids of Little Lambs School and this was possible through an exhibition of photos and film on the Chennai School. This exhibition was the efforts of two Swedish women - Miriam Follin and Linnea Gustafsson who visited India and followed and filmed the everyday life in Little Lambs and also visited some of the kid’s homes.

Post the Easter activity ‘Connect to Learn’ will continue initiating related programs aiming to connect schools from diverse backgrounds in different parts of the world. The schools involved will be majorly from rural parts of Africa, Asia and Latin America.
