VMware has acquired NeoAccel. NeoAccel's SSL VPN-Plus product line combines the performance of IPsec VPNs with the benefits of SSL VPN technology, including increased security, simplified management and reduced cost of ownership.

This acquisition dovetails into VMware's strategy to shape and deliver the next era of IT - cloud computing - by enabling customers to deploy secure private and hybrid clouds and offer secure access to applications and virtual desktops from any device, anywhere.

NeoAccel's solutions complement this strategy and offer several interesting integration opportunities. NeoAccel's SSL VPN-Plus will add user VPN technology, which enables secure, high-performance access to cloud environments.

These new capabilities and VMware's continued collaboration with the leading security vendors will ultimately enable automated, end-to-end security, privacy and compliance for hybrid cloud environments for our customers.

VMware expects to integrate the NeoAccel product line into the VMware vShield family of products, and the NeoAccel team will join VMware's Cloud Infrastructure Business Unit
