WD, Channel Partners Stand for a Cause

WD and its channel partners have come together to commemorate the festival of lights in a meaningful way, with the underprivileged children of approximately 300 families that reside in slums near Springdale School in Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi.

The company tied up with the SMILE Foundation, which runs a community centre for child education and healthcare in the area, and organized a visit for WD employees and channel partners on November 10.

Marking the occasion, Khwaja Saifuddin, WD’s Senior Sales Director for South Asia, Middle East, Africa and Turkey, announced that WD will help SMILE support the education of 25 girls for a year. He said, “It is our pleasure to make this Diwali a special one for the children living here, but I’m also happy that our channel partners were equally supportive about the cause. Each one of us has the ability to bring about a positive change in society, and as a socially conscious organization it is our responsibility to sensitize our partners about the cause.”

“This is a very unique way of celebrating Diwali,” remarked Akhil Singh, Director of AVS Informatics Pvt. Ltd., who was among WD’s channel partners that came forward for the cause.” He added, “It has been an eye opening experience witnessing the conditions these kids live in, and this one day we took out to celebrate with them lends true meaning to the festival of lights. I thank WD for organizing this and making Diwali memorable for us and the children.”

Excited to celebrate Diwali in a unique way, WD’s channel partners came forward in strength to dedicate an evening to the cause. Along with WD representatives, they mingled with the children playing Antakshari and other games at the celebrations. The children enjoyed the chocolates and sweets, and actively participated in the group dance and Rangoli competitions.
